Stuck For Good Books

I was on a roll there in January, but I haven't had a good book to read or listen to in weeks. I've tried two audiobooks and couldn't get into either. I'm half way through a novel I started at Christmas and still not interested in the characters. My sixteen year old niece lent me her werewolf book, and I'm not really loving it.

Help! I need book inspiration! Might be time to take a trip to the library and take out a real book again.

  1. You say "good books" but I assume you mean only modern fiction? Options are limited. :P Have you read Gods Behaving Badly? It was a hoot. And we're about to read Middlesex for book club; I've heard lots of good things about it.

  2. I don't like books I have to work at reading. I haven't read either of those. I may check them out (pun intended).

  3. Do you like mysteries? What else do you like to read? What about The Help by Katherine Stockett? Easy to read. What about the Hunger Games trilogy?

  4. oh I loved The Help. Ang are you on goodreads? (I can't remember... I don't log in often!) There are usually lots of ideas on there if you look through your friends' books.

  5. I like entertaining books that don't keep me awake, scared, at night. I have a ton on hold at the library, just waiting for them to come in.

  6. Hmmm scratch the Hunger Games. It's not horribly disturbing but it's definitely fluffy.

I second Holly - go on Good Reads! ;)

  7. I've used the thread on RM for book suggestions and put a hold on the ebook at the library if they have it. Good reads sounds like there would be too many options for me!
